Every October, the Park City Shot Ski lines up hundreds of skis along Main Street, and thousands of people raise a shot glass at the same moment. It is the world’s longest shot ski, and it is one of the most fun, most Park City afternoons of the year.
The record
Last October, 1,410 people on 583 skis took the world record back for Park City. About 150 volunteers made it happen, and the event raised $70,000 for local nonprofits.
The rivalry
Park City and Breckenridge trade this record back and forth. Park City first won it in 2023 (1,363 to 1,350), and the towns have swapped it since. Breckenridge answers on Dec 18, so this year’s number is the one to beat.
