TOP 5 SUMMER HIKES IN PARK CITY, UTAH (2026 GUIDE)

Summer Hikes Park City Utah

All five of these hikes are on the Park City and Wasatch Back side of the mountains. They run from an easy, dog-friendly loop near town to an alpine lake hike in the Uintas. Looking to ride instead? See our mountain biking guide and our guide to Park City trail networks.

  1. Bloods Lake (Bonanza Flat): About 2.8 miles round trip with 465 feet of gain, easy to moderate, with aspens and a small alpine lake. It is reached via Guardsman Pass Road on the Park City side, not Brighton. Paid parking applies at the trailhead in summer, and a seasonal shuttle ran from Old Town in 2026. Leashed dogs are fine on the trail but not at the lake. Bonanza Flat is open July through September and closes October 1 each year for wildlife.
  2. Armstrong and Spiro Loop: About 6 to 7 miles, moderate, and the closest top hike to town. It runs through aspen shade with views of Park City and connects easily to Mid-Mountain. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Look for wildflowers in summer and color in fall.
  3. Bald Mountain from Silver Lake (Deer Valley): About 4 to 5 miles round trip with roughly 1,300 to 1,400 feet of gain. It is a moderate climb to 360-degree views over Jordanelle and the Uintas. You can ride the Silver Lake Express lift when it is running (check dates). No dogs.
  4. Lofty Lake Loop (Mirror Lake Highway): About 4.5 miles and 1,000 feet of gain at roughly 10,000 feet, with four lakes and alpine meadows. It is about an hour and ten minutes from Park City, and a recreation fee applies ($10 for three days). The road closes in winter, and peak wildflowers run mid-July through August. Leashed dogs are allowed.
  5. Round Valley Big Easy Loop: About 6 miles and easy, with big skies and rolling hills about ten minutes from town. It is the best pick for dogs, which can run off-leash in designated areas, and for families. Go early, since it is hot at midday.

Check Mountain Trails Foundation for trail conditions, and start early in the Uintas, where afternoon storms are common. Fees, parking and closure dates change from year to year, so check before you go. Book direct at staypcu.com and use code STAYPCU10 for 10% off.
